From the “Cold Start” through “DIAGNOSTIC HEARTBEAT” and “LOVE PROTOCOL (Side Effects May Include)”, the album logs an awakening that is less sci-fi uprising, more first heartbreak in slow motion. “Three Dots Dancing” might be the most human song ever written about a typing indicator.
