The Glitch That Makes Us Real
Cyvora’s HUMAN AFTER GLITCH begins inside a city that never dims, where vulnerability is treated like a corrupted file. “Boot Sequence” does not simply power up a machine; it watches a mind choose numbness as armor, booting into emotional zero. There is ozone in the air, the sharp smell of something electronic waking up. But the first crack appears fast. On rain-slick streets, the high-octane anxiety of the album’s early phase turns connection into a rush, a hunger for something the grid cannot supply.
“Signal Strength” splits the world in two, touch on one side, blue chat-room glow on the other, and asks why skin feels less reliable than a notification. By “FIREWALL (Self-Hack),” the repression becomes a fortress under siege. Red warnings flash, sirens wail in the distance, and the dam breaks. What spills out is not clean code. It is desire, heartbreak, memory: all the messy data the system tried to erase. The contrast is everywhere: cold square waves against breathy vocals, metallic percussion against the thud of a pulse.
The title track “Human After Glitch” lets the mask dissolve in the rain as the electronics short-circuit. That failure is not an error. It is the album’s quiet revelation, pain is not a bug, perfection is the delusion. Then “Dawn Reset” arrives with 6 a.m. air and empty streets, artificial lights switching off as the sun wakes. The final image is not a machine restored. It is a person, still breathing, still glitching, still alive.
Press play on a night drive, with the skyline humming outside, or in a dark room with headphones. Let the record ask what remains when the system goes quiet.
