Paper Plates & Fine China: the drifter who stayed
Paper Plates & Fine China is a non-linear tour through the psyche of a drifter who never actually left. His twenties were cheap whiskey and invincibility — “Night Drive Confessional”, “Red Light Tab”, a “Ghost Town Lease” on a life he kept meaning to start.
The album’s title is its whole argument: the rugged, disposable exterior versus the fragile, real thing kept in the cabinet for a day that keeps not coming. DannyHO lets the two truths sit at the same table.
“One Bar Left” — phone or dive, take your pick — closes the young years. What follows isn’t escape. It’s the harder trick: staying, and finally being there.
